Before moving on to the more personal of my pages, please take a moment to read a little note from me:

I would like to start by dispelling those common myths about Paganism and witchcraft as *I* believe. The most common myth is that I am a devil worshipers or Satanist. Though Satanists would also be classified as Pagans, we are not one in the same. Satanists, like conventional Christians believe in Heaven and Hell, God and Satan. I do not believe in the Christian God, therefore I do not believe in the Christian Devil. It would be silly to run around worshiping something I don't believe in, now wouldn't it?

Another common myth is "black magick" and "white magick". Magick is magick, just like prayers are prayers. The effort that is put forth is pure. Only the desired result would be good or bad. In short, there is no bad or good magick, just bad or good magick users. *grin*

Some say that witches are evil and that we do terrible, horrible things. I can assure you, I, and most witches, revere life in all its forms. An unbelievable number of witches revere life so much as to become vegetarians! (Though not me, I'm a meat eating Montana girl at heart and could never give it up! heheh) I can assure you I do not sacrifice babies nor do any harm to them! If I did, I wouldn't have the 4 happily spoiled little hormonal, whiny, moody teenagers  running around my house that I have.  I do not wish bad things for the earth or its inhabitants. I love our earth and want only to care for it or possibly improve it for our next generation. A rede states "An it harm none, do what ye will" or "Live and let live" and I generally believe it.

I would like to mention that I do not hate other religions. I do not believe that all other religions are completely wrong, nor do I believe my own to be completely right. I personally believe that we need to have our diversity to make us who we are. I don't believe an atheist is evil or horrible or rotten. I don't believe a Christian to be anything other than another human being with the same convictions for their faith that I have for mine. I believe all people have the right to worship whatever or whomever they will and do whatever they want to with their life as long as it does no harm to another. Again, Live and Let Live.

I'm frequently asked if I teach my faith to our children. My answer is "Yes, among other paths". I believe that our children should be given information from various sources to reach their own spiritual path, if they even choose to have one. Admittedly they will have a better understanding of Paganism in general, but I am by no means keeping them from more traditional paths. I hope that by providing glimpses of various paths, they will have an understanding and respect for the diversity in faiths around the world.

My answer to the question of "Why would you choose to believe in a Goddess as the great divine as opposed to a God?" is as follows: As far as I've observed in all of my life, Nature has taught that the female of the species gives birth to the next generation. Certainly I'm no scientist and perhaps there is a species that works the other way around somewhere in the world or universe, but for the most part it's true in Nature. Believing that life was "born" somehow millions upon millions or even billions of years ago, I would conclude that the Great Divine would be of the female persuasion. It's a train of thought and a belief brought about by my own observations. Some people see it as ridiculous, but it's perfectly logical to me. (Strange to bring logic into faith anyway, right?)

Above all, I find great comfort in the path I've chosen. It feels right for me. I know the power that I have inside of me and I'm learning everyday how to use it. The mind and the self are phenomenal things. I wish that I could properly convey the beauty that I feel in my path. I hope that each person can find something in their lives that can bring them as much comfort as my path brings me.

I'll also add that if you actually sat down and got to know a witch, you might find that you can admire their pure beliefs and devotion to the Divine. Give it a whirl and let me know what happened. **wink**

With that said, I would like to invite you enter my Pagan halls. I hope that you can take something with you on this day that brings us closer together.

With All My Blessings and Love,

Diana
